(March 03, 2019) - Cindy Palmer was third up on this night at the Mystic YMCA, pitching the idea before about 75 people of supporting a small organization dedicated to helping women transition out of the York Correctional Institution in Niantic. . . . On this night, Palmer's pitch was a winning one, which meant New Life Ministries, no longer associated with a religious organization, would be getting $10,200 from Power of Together 2 Southeastern Connecticut. Mystic-based group supports nonprofit helping the blind
(Sept. 17, 2018) - Power of Together 2, a crowdfunding group based in Mystic, named Ledyard nonprofit Sofia Sees Hope as its August beneficiary, awarding the organization $10,200. Power of Together 2 meets quarterly, and members pledge $100 to go to one of three randomly selected local nonprofit organizations. Representatives pitch their organizations, and members vote on which one will receive that quarter’s collected donations. Nonprofit group awards $9,300 to PNC
Stonington, CT (January 23, 2017) — The 93 members of the Power of Together 2 charitable group donated $9,300 to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center during its fourth meeting Tuesday night. . . The funds will be used to purchase meat and fresh vegetables for their food-distribution program and to help local families keep their homes warm this winter as the cost of fuel steadily rises. Groton (July 25, 2016)— Members of a newly formed citizens' group in Mystic donated $100 each this month, raising $5,800 to help Groton Public Library open on Sundays this year.
